Delphine the seahorse rolling out of studio and going out to exhibition

The spring semester is nearly at the half way mark, with kilns buzzing , students creating and sculpture work moving from one show to another. I have a trip planned for students this term and I am excited to be bringing them out into the community to see the Radical Clay exhibition at the Ringling museum . This exhibit features 36 women artists working in porcelain and it is such a joy to have access to the beautiful grounds and spaces at Ringling so close by for my students to enjoy.

Dragonfly Flora is now installed in Sunrise. Florida at Flamingo park.

Delphine the seahorse and Hera are off to the State College of Florida , Bradenton campus. If you are local this exhibit is opening February 27th 5- 7 pm .A few clay works will also be included as well as paintings, photography and graphic design.

Teaching takes over during each semester and I look toward spring break with hopes of starting a new armature knowing I will then have to wait until the end of the semester to actually start the crete chae clay sculpting . A new order to process has slowly developed that is dictated by schedule and finding large blocks of time is more rare. I am writing more, but it is lesson plans and creating more smaller clay works as samples and demonstrations, drawing, planning and experimenting more than making . There is continued learning and growth in all the processes of studio and as long as that continues to move forward all is well .
