Stone carving in Vermont, Garden Art Crete Chae Clay workshop in Florida .

Hi there , yes I have been Mia for some time and it has come to me finally in full realization that I cannot do everything . Newsletter, blog time will become quarterly- seasonally is nicer I think . As in the title there have been exciting things developing in my missing from the computer.

A recent trip for stone carving in Vermont was an absolute adventure . I am so thankful to the college for providing me this opportunity with a professional development scholarship. I spent two days at https://carvingstudio.org/

The carving and sculpture center in Rutland, Vermont and carved my first stone sculpture in marble. Ryder, the instruction was excellent, the site very beautiful, and a lobster risotto to die for was enjoyed immensely.

The next exciting thing on the agenda is my first in person workshop to teach my magic mix - Crete Chae Clay .

I will be giving a three hour workshop in Sarasota, Florida Saturday October 25th at The Fabulous Arts Foundation on Lime St. We will be creating a dragonfly sculpture and I am beyond happy to be doing sharing Crete Chae Clay -teaching it as a sculpting media for outdoor , garden art that does not require a kiln .

Day-to-day school is hopping busy with kiln repairs and increased student enrollment. Students are now working on art history boxes in handbuilding, and wheel throwing is learning to make forms with more control on the wheel for sets. Glazing experimentation, sgraffito, and underglaze transfers are all in the mix. Plans for spring semester are already being developed , lessons , modules written and teaching drawing as well as the ceramics courses will be a new twist starting in January .

I hope you all are well and seeking out new learning experiences and adventures for yourself too. As always feel free to email me any questions and if I can help in any way I will do my best to assist you.
